Bluegrass and Japanese distillers welcome new type of bourbon

Legent bourbon

Kentucky and Japan have become increasingly beneficial business partners over the past decade, bringing valuable investments and jobs to Kentucky. Last week, The New York Times covered another successful partnership between the two vibrant cultures – the new and jointly produced Japanese bourbon, Legent.

A collaboration between master Jim Beam distiller, Fred Noe, and chief blender at Japanese distillery Suntory, Shinji Fukuyo, birthed “a new user-friendly bourbon, smooth and spicy, with characteristic lingering sweetness at a relatively modest price.”

Legent joins countless proud Kentucky bourbons as a symbol of the artistry involved in one of Kentucky’s oldest and proudest crafts.
