What’s the common wealth we share?

by Sally Schroder
Common wealth

Kentucky is one of four states to call itself a commonwealth, a distinction in name only. At The Kentucky 100, we’re proud to be a rarity and see the name as a meaningful reference to the riches we share as Kentuckians.

We hold in “common” a “wealth” of tradition, history, bourbon, bluegrass music, horse racing, mountain pride, farming wisdom, energy leadership, manufacturing innovation and a commitment to the next generation.

Twice each month, The Kentucky 100 will share positive stories about the people and organizations that make our state special. Preserving our common wealth … that’s what it’s all about.
