Better infrastructure means safer travel for Kentucky

by

Road work isn’t ONLY for economic development. It also means safer travel for everyone in Kentucky.

Example: A recent ramp project in Shively resulted in 72 percent fewer accidents, according to crash reports analyzed by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The accidents were also less severe and were less likely to cause injury.

The old ramp from I-264 to northbound Dixie Highway was short, had no traffic light and tunneled directly onto one of the region’s busiest corridors. But KYTC invested about $725,000 in 2017 to straighten and realign the ramp, creating a T-intersection with a traffic light.
