We already know Kentucky produces about 95% of the world’s supply of bourbon, and while big names comprise most of that 95% there’s an ever-growing number of craft distilleries going “legal” by subjecting themselves to state and federal taxes.
Many crafters are making bourbon and whiskey, while others are sticking with old-fashioned moonshine. Some are revisiting old family recipes or reviving old distillery sites. Regardless of motivation, everyone’s realizing there’s more to quality whiskey than just a big name.
Not only are craft distilleries the heart of the grain-to-glass movement, but many also manufacture their own hand sanitizers these days.
