Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is raising the bar as the first Kentucky hospital to receive the American Society for Health Care Engineering’s 2019 Excellence in Health Care Facility Management Award – an award given annually to one facility nationwide.
Through a partnership with Harshaw Trane, the hospital reduced energy consumption by 21.5% (saving over $1.7 million) through its five-year “journey to Energy Star” initiative. The Energy Star program allows businesses to reduce energy consumption and their carbon footprint while lowering energy costs – a win-win.
Instead of paying utility companies, these savings go toward providing quality patient care.
