Few landmarks say Kentucky like Churchill Downs’ famed Twin Spires. Installed more than a century ago in 1895, the spires were designed by Luckett & Farley, a Louisville architecture firm that is still pioneering designs in the state to this day.
In addition to the track’s most recognizable feature, Luckett & Farley is behind many other innovative designs at the horse track. The firm came up with the master plan for its renovation and expansion, including the replacement of the clubhouse, the renovation and expansion of the Kentucky Derby Museum, and the renovated Gate One – the grand new entrance to the track.
