Don’t squawk if you don’t vote

Kentucky vote

Four years ago, 3.2 million Kentuckians were eligible to vote in the general election for governor and other officeholders. Only 30% bothered to vote – about 978,000 people.

The excuses: “I don’t like politics.” “The candidates are all alike.” “Negative ads turn me off.” “I’m too busy.” And the most powerless: “My vote doesn’t matter.”

Cop-outs! If you don’t vote, you don’t respect democracy enough to invest a few of the 525,600 minutes you live each year in America.

Need motivation to vote next Tuesday? Listen to Susan B. Anthony: “Someone struggled for your right to vote. Use it.”
