Kentucky has adopted an innovative building approach for a major transportation project that will save time and money. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has combined four interstate projects in Louisville and is seeking a design-build team.
The $180 million project, called I-Move Kentucky, will improve safety and reduce congestion through a heavily traveled interstate corridor through Jefferson and Oldham counties. It will be the largest construction project in Kentucky since the Ohio River Bridges Project (2016).
It will add lane capacity and upgrade two major interchanges on I-265, I-71 and I-64. Construction is scheduled through 2023.
