Last year, for the first time in Kentucky’s 226-year history, a statewide elected official had a baby while holding office. And then it happened for a second time.
Treasurer Allison Ball, a Republican, and Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, a Democrat, both appeared at the premier of a new safety video that will be shown annually to about 50,000 new parents at hospitals across the state.
“This is an issue that is not political,” said Ball. “It’s just the right thing to do.”
Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky created the video, which was sponsored by WellCare of Kentucky.
