Survey shows pets are top of mind when planning vacations

Everyone knows summer is a season of travel. For pet owners like myself, a dog or cat is another layer of logistics when it comes to deciding where to go and how to get there.

A PetFirst survey found 60% of vacationers miss or worry about their pets enough to request photos while on vacation, and 12% even “staycation” to enjoy time at home with pets.

I find myself a combination of the two, taking a few vacation days to enjoy time at home and utilizing my parents as dog sitters. After all, distance makes the heart grow fonder, right?
