Mammoth Cave

Kentucky’s famous bluegrass and rolling hills are certainly a spectacle for visitors but a recent Travel + Leisure article featured the Commonwealth for what’s below the surface.

Mammoth Cave National Park, located primarily in Edmonson County, is the world’s longest cave system. The travel magazine praised the park for its complex array of passageways that span for more than 400 miles with some tours taking visitors 300 feet below the surface.

Along with the vast chambers, narrow canyons and underground tours, Mammoth Cave offers nearly 84 miles of backcountry trails for hikers, bikers and runners. Enjoy these activities at no cost.
