The hit NetFlix series “The Crown” follows the 63-year reign of Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s current and longest-serving monarch. In the new season, a 1967 Kentucky horse farm visit prompts the queen to become wistful.
She marvels at the willingness of Americans to “embrace new ideas” and notes that the horse farm life may have been “what I was born to do, before the other thing came along.” She notes this “unlived life” might have been happier.
Did that really happen? The queen has visited Kentucky several times, but her first trip was in 1984 – unless she slipped over unannounced!
