The 1940s became known as “railroading’s finest hour” when the rail systems provided war aid across the United States. Today, in Kentucky, you can experience a bit of that nostalgia thanks to My Old Kentucky Dinner Train.
In 1987 R. J. Corman Railroad Company purchased the 20-mile branch, originally constructed in 1860. The three dinner cars were built in the late 1940s and have since been refurbished so people can have the true experience of a historical adventure on the rails.
The train offers meals, special events, and even a New Year’s Eve Celebration Excursion that takes you back in time.
