Scientists at Louisville Water Company test their product 200 times a day – partly because it’s the key ingredient in a drink that will age for years.

Louisville pure tap® is the foundational ingredient for more than a dozen of the nation’s best bourbon distilleries. Collectively, distilleries are Louisville Water’s largest customer. This relationship dates to the 1800s but exploded this century. (Bourbon demand has quadrupled since 1999).

Good water is so crucial to bourbon that one expert hauled Louisville Water, “bourbon’s best friend,” to New Orleans for a tasting.

Distillers depend on pure, great-tasting water. But then, doesn’t everyone?
