Louisville’s NuLu neighborhood will soon be home to the headquarters of Truman’s – a company specializing in direct-to-consumer cleaning products that offer an environmentally friendly alternative to plastic waste and wasteful distribution processes.
Instead of throwing plastic bottles of cleaning supplies away once they’re empty, Truman’s produces reusable bottles along with cartridges of concentrated cleaning liquid. When empty, a new cartridge is shipped – and diluted with water in the reusable bottle. This means only the cartridge has to be shipped.
Truman’s launched as a startup in 2019, raising $5 million from investors led by Henkel, a chemical industry mainstay.
