Louisville’s growing soccer scene will soon become home to a new National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team in 2021.
Proof Louisville FC will share an ownership group and Lynn Family Stadium with Louisville’s men’s United Soccer League team. Its Butchertown stadium is under construction by Messer/Harmon JV, with Louisville City FC’s first game slated for next season in early 2020.
The Louisville NWSL expansion team will have access to two players on the U.S. women’s national soccer team, bringing globally elite talent to Kentucky. The top tier professional women’s league will announce team colors and official logo in the coming months.
