Picture walking through a spiraling trellis that transforms plants into architecture. Imagine tasting the sights and smells of an edible garden. That awaits you in Louisville’s own Waterfront Botanical Gardens, set to open in October this year.
The Waterfront Botanical Gardens was created by Botanica, a local gardening organization that started in 1993, to develop experiences that promote a greater understanding of plants and a more sustainable world.
Hundreds of trees have been planted and over 15,000 plants are already growing with construction well underway. The continuing phases will feature expansions, including the visitors center and water filtration garden.
