We may not have beaches in Louisville, but we do have bourbon, horses and houses people can afford.
That’s the good news from Thrillist, which recently assessed the salary needed in the 50 largest United States cities to afford a medium-sized home.
At the top of the list were cities like San Jose, where you need to earn $255,000 to afford a house and San Diego, where $132,000 is needed.
By contrast, in Louisville we need to earn $42,000, putting us 45th on the list. (And that’s a good list to be near the bottom on.)
