Does UPS conjure images of presents and consumer goods? You should also think about health care – including medical tests and specimens.

When time and temperature count, logistics can save lives. This video shows flu vaccines being shipped 9,000 miles from Louisville to Laos, without their temperatures varying more than 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit.

Earlier this year, UPS also began delivering medical samples by drone on a medical campus in Raleigh, North Carolina. On Sept. 18, UPS officials and a Louisville Forward representative are hosting a no-cost webinar, titled “Innovations, Drones and the Future of Specimen Logistics.” Register here.
