New family-friendly wooden coaster getting rave reviews

Kentucky wooden coaster

Kentucky Kingdom’s newest roller coaster is getting rave reviews, and it was even listed in a story about “What to Ride” in 2019 in The New York Times.

The Times highlighted the family-friendly nature of the Kentucky Flyer, which opened this season with just a 40-inch height requirement for riders. (That’s an average height for four-year-olds.) The Times described the wooden coaster as “mild enough for children to enjoy, but also wild enough to have plenty of adults screaming.” Whew!

The park’s sixth coaster, it features a 52-degree, 45-foot drop and goes 35 mph.
