A major renovation is underway at the famous Sanders Cafe in Corbin where Kentucky Fried Chicken originated from.

KFC lovers from around the world will enjoy the updated and expanded restaurant and museum, which was last renovated more than 30 years ago. The colonel’s fried chicken recipe is still a secret, but guests will find a new souvenir shop and Harland’s herb and spice room paying tribute to Sanders’ secret blend when renovations are completed in about nine months.

Sanders Cafe opened as a gas station in 1937 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
