Kentucky often falls in the national spotlight for its signature bourbon, advanced manufacturing industry or growing logistics leadership.
But a recent CBS story featured Kentucky in an artistic light – profiling 32-year-old Teddy Abrams, the youngest conductor of a major orchestra in the United States.
The “Sunday Morning” story credited Abrams with helping the famed Louisville Orchestra grow its attendance by 30 percent since he arrived here four years ago. A large photo of him greets visitors at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport.
Abrams signed a new five-year contract in March, extending through the 2024-25 season.
