Kentucky home to North America’s 3rd busiest cargo airport

December is the busiest month for the UPS Worldport in Louisville, as the facility processes over 4 million packages a day during the holiday shipping season.

Even on a regular month, UPS processes over 2 million per day. The website Transport Topics says that makes Louisville’s Muhammad Ali International Airport the third busiest cargo airport on the continent.

The airport in Memphis snagged first place on that roster – the presence of a FedEx hub there makes the city a shipping rival. Second place for continental bragging rights goes to the airport in Anchorage, Alaska. (But come on, that’s practically Asia!)
