Highway safety important to those building our roads

Working on a roadway or interstate is dangerous. In 2018, 54 percent of contractors reported motor vehicle accidents in their construction zone.

The men and women who are working on our highways depend on us to help them get home to their families each night. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be highlighting safety during National Work Zone Awareness Week, April 8-12.

One way to pay tribute is to participate in Glow Orange Kentucky by lighting your business with orange lights that week. But even more important: drive safely. And tell your friends they should slow down in work zones, too!
