Since 1991, the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, Kentucky has been dedicated to quiltmaking and the talented artisans who keep it alive.
Located in historic downtown minutes from the Ohio River, the building houses over 600 pieces of artwork (there were only 85 on opening day!) and pop-up and traveling exhibits on loan from other facilities that are rotated 8-10 times annually.
The museum’s educational offerings include workshops led by world-renowned artists and the “School Block Challenge” competition where K-12 students create their own quilt blocks. Team members promote the craft further via their contributions to articles, podcasts and community events.
