Did you know nearly 10,000 Kentucky school buses transport 385,000 students every school day?
That’s our future on the roadway. But the Kentucky Department of Education said drivers often endanger our children by passing school buses inappropriately.
By law, everyone traveling on two- or three-lane roads should stop when students are getting on or off the bus. On four-lane roads, vehicles traveling the opposite direction aren’t required to stop.
The education department has developed pledge cards to make drivers more mindful of the need to stop for school buses. Let’s take the pledge for our kids.
