Kentucky is a world leader in logistics – the delivering of goods to customers. It’s a field employing 64,000 people in the state and processing 2.1 million packages a day.
This industrial sector is growing as fast as you can say “same-day delivery.” Last month, Amazon announced it’s building a $1 billion Amazon Air Hub at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. The hub will open in 2021 and create 2,000 jobs.
Amazon already hired 12,500 people in Kentucky, who work in 14 fulfillment and sortation centers, two Whole Foods Markets and one customer service center.
